Back from Little Rock!

I just got back from Little Rock a couple of days ago. The internship eventually came to an end. Phew! Since I came back, I've been on the relaxing track. I lost all my sense of time. How nice. I slept like no one's business, eat, met up with friends, went to the lake with a couple of them and went to catch a movie last night.

Hmm the only bad thing is that I'm the only one living in my home right now. So, it gets kinda quiet sometimes =/. And scary. That's when I decided to get myself new speakers. They are small tiny ones, but enough to keep me distracted at night!

Well the internship on the whole went pretty well. I finished my last presentation and turned in my final paper a day before i left. It was a huge relief! All the days of stressing, practicing and getting frustrated were now behind.

I was exposed to a lot of new information and lab techniques during my stay here. But, what i find most precious was that I acquired inspiration from my mentor. She's usually real caught up in her work, so she doesn't have time to talk to me much. But the fact is, she doesn't need to.

By observing the way she handles her experiments and people. I learned. I was invited to one of her meetings with other researchers and I found someone worth looking up to. She was the only lady in the room with the STRONGEST Polish accent. ever. At times it's just kinda difficult to understand her. Yet, the interesting thing was she didn't let it bother her at all! She sat poised, confident and spoke with much grace when she was trying to communicate her points across to the room of Americans. Very brave and wise person. (at least to me!)

I felt and I'm still feeling lucky to be one of her summer students. That's all, I'll let myself rot again for now. Later.
