This is a case on FoxNews today,
The short summary of it is that the father of a diabetic child, chose to pray for his child well-being instead of bringing her to the hospital for medical treatment.
He's now brought to court to be judged upon his behavior. Was he really at fault? Judge for yourselves. This is part of the news report:
Prosecutors contend the 47-year-old father of three other children had a legal duty to take the girl to the hospital because her health had deteriorated to the point she couldn't walk, talk or eat.
Neumann testified he believed praying for the girl was needed because all healing comes from God and he never expected her to die.
"If I go to the doctor, I am putting the doctor before God," Neumann said. "I am not believing what he said he would do."
I find this case absolutely disturbing, and I find it even more disturbing to realize that there are more people out there who can be so blinded by their own religion and lose all their rationale. I'm not pin-pointing any religion, nor do I have anything against religions at all. All of them teach pretty good values, and I recognize that it is really up to individuals to choose how he or she wants to interprate the teachings.
To me, it is the fault of the individuals that these kind of cases happened instead of the religion itself.
I apologize if I offended anyone, but it just seems to me that something is wrong when lives go to waste for no good reason. Particularly, when it is wasted just because people are so damn retarded with religion.
